Greetings Renegades!
Here is my quick review of the Nilight NI 06A-18W 8PCS 18W 1260lm Spot led pods Driving Fog Road Lights Bar Jeep Lamp.
Okay, first let me preface by explaining I don't do a lot of "off-road" travel. My need for additional lighting is for illuminating area's around the Renegade when camping or during roadside emergencies. Therefore I was not looking for the brightest, farthest light throwing lights available. If I begin to up my off-roading, I'll look into upgrading the lights, if needed.
I ordered an 8 pack of lights and here is my install plan: 4 along the front, 1 on each side, and 2 in the rear. I'll group them together for 3 switches: front, sides, and rear.
Upon receipt, they were very well packaged, and arrived on time!
Some minor assembly is required, just attaching the mounting brackets. If mounting on a flat surface, these brackets are all you will need. I was mounting on the round piping on the roof basket so I ordered additional brackets.
Here are some photos of the parts.
Once assembled I install the mounting clamps to the rack and then installed the lights.
I group the leads from each group together, and used wire loom to run the lights to the rear corner and fed the leads down the rear door jam. All the lights are grounded on the frame behind the tail light.
I used a 6 Gang Switch Panel from OFFROADTOWN I found on Amazon, link below. With this switch panel, I only had to run the positive lead to the front of the vehicle. I really liked the install and it cleans up the wiring nest that can be created in the engine compartment. I was able to use some of the other switches for my previously installed fog lights, and some other added accessories.
I think they look great, and so far work great too.
